About Tigs

Sherry Kadwell, born and raised in Thornbury, has always had a passion for fashion and a dream of owning her own retail store. In 1987, she took her first steps toward realizing that dream by opening a store on the hill of Main Street in Thornbury. Over the years, Sherry has successfully grown the business, eventually moving to a larger space in a former apple storage building on Highway 26.

Today, Tigs is one of the largest clothing stores north of Toronto, offering an extensive collection of high-end fashion for women of all ages. Featuring renowned brands such as Eileen Fisher, Gerry Weber, Brax, Saint James, Part Two, Bylyse, and Tommy Bahama, Tigs provides a wide selection of stylish clothing and accessories, including hats, scarves, gloves, jewelry, handbags, and shoes. For almost four decades, Sherry's vision and passion have been to offer her customers exceptional service while building meaningful relationships with each of her valued clients. 

Recently, Sherry’s daughter, Harris, has joined the family business, bringing fresh ideas and a modern perspective after completing business school. Together, they are committed to ensuring that Tigs remains a thriving, customer-focused destination for years to come. With Harris’s help, Sherry is excited to continue growing Tigs and looks forward to the next 40 years of success.
