Introducing… John Beckett Menswear.
What began as a rolling rack, then evolved into a makeshift Men’s Room, has now become something of its own — and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
But before we tell you about the store, we want to tell you about the name.
John Kadwell was Sherry’s late husband, father to Harris and Davis, and an unforgettable part of Tigs. Years ago, John loved the Tommy Bahama mens line and would happily order pieces for himself through our connection to the womenswear wholesale company. A few seasons later, Sherry decided to bring in two Tommy Bahama men’s sweaters for the holiday season. They were an instant hit.
The next fall, we introduced a few more styles. Then a few more after that. Time went on, COVID happened, and while progress was slow, slow progress is still progress. Eventually, the old “sale room” transformed into our men’s department — carrying not only Tommy Bahama, but brands that reflected the same elevated, effortless style our women’s customers had come to know and love.
Today, although we are missing a member of our family, John will always be a part of Tigs, and we wanted to ensure this family business reflected that.
Beckett, on the other hand, is the newest addition to our family and has already brought so much joy into our lives. As the first grandchild — and already a stylish one — he represents a new generation.
Putting together John and Beckett’s names felt natural. While they never had the chance to meet, the name represents both the history and future of our family. John’s fashion-forward presence and lasting impact on Tigs paired with Beckett representing the next generation made “John Beckett Menswear” feel especially meaningful to us.
More than anything, we wanted the name to reflect what Tigs has always been about — family. A place that grows with generations, welcomes everyone through the door, and helps people feel confident in their own style at every stage of life.
We believe style should evolve with you — not be limited by age or trends. We were all youthful at one point, and feeling confident in what you wear never goes out of style. Our goal is to create a space where men can update and elevate their wardrobe while still feeling like themselves — confident, comfortable, and refreshed.
We’re still putting the finishing touches on the space, but we simply couldn’t wait to show you. The store is officially open and ready for you to explore.
